A Few Unrelated Things

First of all, I'm back to drinking Extra Light Olive Oil, per the Shangri-La Diet. I am not drinking it in the middle of the night, because I've read some things about the value of having at least an over-night fast, and oil in the middle of the night, of course, breaks that fast. So I'm having a good two-tablespoon shot first thing in the morning, and waiting an hour before my first cup of tea. Since I often go back to bed and laze for another twenty minutes after having the oil, and then have to A) weigh myself, B) take my meds, C) scramble into warm clothes, D) feed the chickens, E) walk the dogs around the woods, F) go out to the mail box for the paper, G) take my morning gelatin, it's not that rough to kill an hour.

And I have to tell you, it is once again making me feel full. Really, really full. I don't think I've eaten that much today -- eggs with chicken liver for breakfast, maybe an ounce-and-a-half of my homemade sugar-free chocolate, a few handfuls of peanuts in the middle of the afternoon, and probably... 6 ounces? That's what I'm guessing -- of pork for supper. And I am CRAMMED.

I will keep you posted.

On a completely unrelated note, I wound up going to three-count-em-three grocery stores today, ugh. At the second, I was in the express line behind a man who clearly was worried about germs, because he was wearing a surgical mask. What was he buying? Two big sacks of sugar. Head, meet desk...

And finally, Atkins -- the company that makes the bars and shakes and such -- has been sold. The new owner is the same corporation that owns Cinnabon. Make of this what you will. I can go years without eating a bar or drinking a canned shake anyway. And frankly, the Atkins label products have been... shall we say "questionable"? -- for years. There's a reason why, in 2004, the Atkins logo earned the epithet "The Scarlet Letter."

Have some eggs.
